Tiago Lousada and Elisabete Anjos Oliveira teamed up to create Ixat (upside down ca bin Portuguese), a new platform that aims to revolutionize the Portuguese market for individual and paid passenger transport in uncharacterized vehicles, the so-called TVDE.
"It is a startup and will debut at the beginning of October with an innovative service in our country: the motorcycle cab", announces the company, in a press release.
Ixat presents itself as the "only 100% Portuguese platform, also assuming itself as the most economical and the one with the greatest benefits for adherent drivers", says Tiago Lousada, a former swimming professional, who played for FC Porto.
Lousada guarantees that Ixat "is the app that charges the lowest commission in the market, which allows us to increase the profitability of the drivers who serve us and charge less to users", he says.
Hence the app”claim”: “ixat, the moving, cheaper, more responsible tribe in town...”
“Simpler, faster and more sustainable", emphasizes Elisabete Anjos Oliveira, the other co-founder of ixat, who is a lawyer and is finishing her master's degree in law and information technology at the University of Minho.
"It is the only platform that offers motorcycles with a driver, with the Maxi Scooter and Tourism segments, most of them being 100% electric, our Green Go", maintains Pedro Marques, a businessman from Aveiro who "from the first moment believed in the project ", having entered as an investor in this startup, which "has so far investment of more than 100 000 euros so far.
The idea came to Tiago Lousada in the summer of 2021, "when he triangulated the difficulty of many customers to get a TVDE in the hustle and bustle of big cities with a possible solution".
"He questioned drivers after drivers, who explained why they canceled services", and, clarifies the co-founder, "filtered out the opportunity that allowed tus o create the resource that provides wins for both parties", drivers and users.
That is why, when Ixat started up, the debut took place with the motorcycle taxi and courier service.
"We wanted to enter the market with a differentiating element, innovative in the country, which would guarantee us the speed of arrival to the destination that many clientes seek, always in compliance with road safety rules", reinforce Tiago Lousada and Elisabete Anjos Oliveira.
Ixat will be in operation "in cities like Lisbon, Porto and in the Algarve region", and will gradually expand “to all districts” in continental Portugal.
Furthermore, "by the end of the year Ixat will enter other market niches", promises those responsible for this new mobility platform, which will make its presentation to the press next Friday, October 7th, at the headquarters of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), in Porto.
